Frozen Peach Daiquiris

FROZEN PEACH DAIQUIRIS

Oh, how I love peaches! Frozen peach daiquiris have surpassed all of our previous favorite uses for fresh peaches, including pies, cakes, cobblers, and crisps. Peaches are in season in the Northeast in late July and early August, and there’s no better way to savor them than with a frozen peach daiquiri in the late summer heat.

At a recent barbecue, we offered pitchers of these frozen peach daiquiris, and everyone loved them! Drinking daiquiris and eating perfectly ripe peaches together is one of the best parts of summer. If you have youngsters or people who don’t drink, you can make virgin frozen daiquiris by leaving out the rum.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF THE PEACH SEASON

Yellow peaches have a lot stronger scent than white peaches; therefore, that’s what we suggest you use instead. Although yellow peaches are significantly more frequent in the US, we found white peaches on the outskirts of Beijing when we stayed there.

As evidenced by our recent posts, we adore the peach harvest season! We cook Peach Pie when the first ripe peaches appear on the market. The Grilled Peach Crisps with Yogurt dish she recently shared with us is a new favorite in our kitchen.

Drink up, it’s the last week of summer, and you deserve a special cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 ounces of rum
  • 4 ripe yellow peaches
  • 2 cups of ice
  • 4 tablespoons of agave nectar or simple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Start with some ripe, fresh peaches. If necessary, place them in a paper bag overnight to ripen them more rapidly. The peaches are prepared for consumption after they are aromatic and give slightly when you press them.
  2. Give the peach a slight twist after cutting it in half around the pit. The peach pit should be removed and thrown away. Since the skin of the peaches adds color and fiber to the drink, we chose not to peel them when we produced frozen peach daiquiris for this post. Anyone who claims a peach daiquiri can’t be healthy is lying.
  3. If you decide to peel the peaches while they are ripe and in season, you might be able to do so without blanching the skin or using a peeler if you do it by hand. If you choose not to peel the peach, make sure you thoroughly scrub the skin to get rid of pesticides. You may prepare a batch of peaches in advance and store them in the freezer or refrigerator if you’re throwing a party.
  4. The halved peaches, agave syrup, and lime juice should all be added to a blender. Even though you can squeeze the lime juice in advance, using fresh lime juice will give your daiquiri its greatest flavor.
  5. Make a peach puree by selecting the smoothie option on your blender and blending for 20 seconds. When your frozen peach daiquiri is nicely smooth, add the ice and rum, if using, and mix for 45 to 60 seconds.
  6. Immediately serve your peach daiquiris!
