FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF SALMON IS COOKED?

  • When cooked, salmon takes on a pink hue. Salmon also exudes small white particles known as albumin.
  • They are made up of the fish’s own coagulated protein and are entirely safe to consume. Delish claims that as salmon cooks, its muscle fibers flex, resulting in the fish’s protein being pushed out of its body.
  • After 7 minutes of cooking, insert a knife into the thickest portion of the fish to see if it’s done. Flaking and slight transparency indicate that the meat has been adequately cooked.
  • A properly cooked piece of salmon should have 145 degrees Fahrenheit on an instant-read thermometer, if available.

CAN I BAKE IN FOIL?

  • Yes, you can absolutely do that. Use heavy-duty aluminum foil to place the marinated salmon on before baking. Bake it in the oven according to the recipe’s directions, securely wrapped. The aluminum foil should be unwrapped and served as soon as possible.
